CLN Commitment to Anti-Racism

The dangerous and painful reality of systemic racism and inequality has led to the horrific deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Tyler, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many others. As a community organization, the Colorado Lean Network stands in support of all who are working and advocating to end this racial violence. Your struggle is our struggle. Black Lives Matter!

Racism is not only a problem in law enforcement. It’s detrimental impact can be felt in education, healthcare, housing options, workplaces, and in every institution in our society. Therefore, every member of CLN and the CLN leadership has a role to play in dismantling the systems that perpetuate this inequality and limit BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) from thriving in this country.

At its core, Lean has always been about respect for people. We cannot fully exemplify this value if we do not analyze and root out systems of racism (and all forms of oppression) within our community, our institutions, and within ourselves.

Therefore, we are committed to this work. We recognize that it will require sustained engagement and a variety of approaches. We will work to support social justice organizations in our communities and we are eager to seek out and engage in opportunities to promote racial equity and justice.
